Long Island International Film Festival

Annual Long Island International Film Expo offers a full schedule of events. In addition to presentation of more than 150 films several panels and parties, many of them free, are offered:

• Friday, July 9 - Filmmakers Lounge (directly West of the Bellmore Movies)  Informal Wine and Cheese Reception - 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm - Free to LIIFE 2010 Filmmakers, Gold Pass Holders, Filmmakers Connection Members, Day Pass Holders and anyone with a LIIFE 2010 ticket.
• Saturday, July 10 - Noon to 1 pm Filmmakers Lounge - Free workshop by DnA (Directions and Actors) Find out how this group works and how to get involved.   Directors 'n' Actors (DnA) is a diverse group of directors working in film, television, and theater who meet weekly to explore the craft of directing actors. The directors focus on effective communication with actors, while using Judith Weston's "Directing Actors" as a guide.
• Also on Saturday, July 10,  at 12:00pm, members of DnA will present the group's round robin workshop model. Directors will trade off working with two actors on a scene from a produced movie. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
• Sunday, July 11 - 12 noon to 1 pm -  NYWIFT Panel - Topic "Women in Film" - free - Filmmakers Lounge  
• Friday, July 16 - Filmmakers Lounge (directly West of the Bellmore Movies)  Friday Filmmakers Fiesta and Tech Award Ceremony - 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm.  Treats by Piccolo's and Starbucks. Free to LIIFE 2010 Filmmakers, Gold Pass Holders, Filmmakers Connection Members, Day Pass Holders and anyone with a LIIFE 2010 ticket.
• Saturday, July 17 - Panel and Filmmakers Breakfast - 10:30 am - Noon - in the Filmmakers Lounge -  "The Good, The Bad and the Horror Stories: The Perils of Independent Filmmaking" moderated by Mitchell Bard of Snapper Films. General public - $5. LIIFE 2010 Participating filmmakers, Filmmakers Connection Members and Gold Pass holders - Free!!!.   Panel - 12:00 Noon to 12:45. - FREE for 2010 LIIFE Participating Filmmakers and $5 to the general public). "Write Stuff" Panel on Scriptwriting - Filmmakers Lounge - Free. Moderated by Mitchell Bard of Snapper Films.
• Sunday, July 18 - Film Distribution Panel - 12:00 noon - 12:45 pm - Filmmakers Lounge - Free.  Hear industry professionals discuss the current state of independent film distribution. Moderated by Isil Bagdadi of Cavu Pictures.

Additionally, honorees this year include Armand Assante with our Creative Achievement Award and Judy Prianti with our Friend of the Foundation award.  Presenters include (so far), Robert Clohessy (Boardwalk Empire), Anthony Mangano (NYPD Blue), Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling, Brian O'Halloran (Clerks), Lenny Venito (The Knights of Prosperity), Lou Martini Jr. (The Sopranos), Sharon Angela (The Sopranos), Brandon Hannan (The Sopranos) and we're waiting on several other celebrity honorees and presenters.
