LEND ME A TENOR

JFK High School in Bellmore will present the outrageous comedy Lend Me a Tenor November 18^th and 19^th at 7:30 P.M. in the school auditorium. The play takes place in 1934; world famous tenor Tito Morelli is to perform Otello, his greatest role, at the gala season opener of the Cleveland Grand Opera, but Morelli is late; when he finally sweeps in, it is too late to rehearse with the company. Through a hilarious series of mishaps, Il Stupendo passes out and Saunders and his assistant Max believe he is dead. What to do? Max, an aspiring singer, and Saunders persuades him to get into Morelli’s Otello costume and try to fool the audience into thinking he’s Il Stupendo.  This screwball comedy was a huge sensation on Broadway and was nominated for several awards including best play.
