Fifteen Mepham Girls Lax Players Contribute to 15-2 Win Over Hempstead

Kathryn DeLauter comes out of goalie spot to score her first goal ever.

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team beat Hempstead 15-2 yesterday to improve to 10-0 in the Conference.

Talk about a team effort. Fifteen different girls scored for Mepham including Julie Fithian, Cristina Olson, Kaitlyn Paolillo, Erin McCarthy, Lauren Johnson, Nicole Stackpole and Alex Giorgos. The following girls scored their first career varsity goal: Michelle Olson, Colleen Maas, Lauren Goldman, Sam Acri, Erin Neuwirth, Dani Replogle, and JamieLee Pignotti.  

After Kathryn DeLauter made three saves in the first half she came out of goal in the second half to score her first goal ever on a hard shot to the top right corner. Jayme Batcher made her debut in goals making four saves and only allowing one goal.

On Monday the girls take on Sewanhaka at home in a highly anticipated game where a win could ensure them at least a share the Conference Title.
