Third Arrest Made in Nassau Thanksgiving Weekend Assault

Four people broke into a home and beat two teens with a baseball bat.

UPDATE: Police have arrested Jake Lucas, 21, of Grohmans Lane, Plainview, in connection with the assault. Lucas is charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police have arrested two people and are searching for two more who allegedly broke into a Bellmore home and beat two teens with a baseball bat.

According to detectives, Lauren Morales, 28, and Nicholas Laurenti, 20, both of Smith Street in Hicksville, entered the garage of a home on Lakeview Road in Bellmore at 6:15 p.m. Saturday where two teens, ages 19 and 17, were playing video games. Morales and Laurenti were accompanied by two additional unidentified male white subjects not yet apprehended, police said.

Police say the four began to punch, kick and hit the teens with an aluminum bat in the face, head and body. After a short time, the four fled the home in an unknown direction. The victims suffered bruises to the face and pain in their legs but refused medical attention at the scene.

Morales was arrested on Monday at 8:50 p.m. in Baldwin. Laurenti surrendered to detectives at the Seventh Precinct in Seaford on Monday at 12:02 a.m.

Both are charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. They were arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
