Grand Avenue Yorker Club Visits Yankee Stadium

Editor's Note: This article was written by representatives of the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District.

Students from Grand Avenue Middle School’s Yorker Club were recently treated to their annual tour of Yankee Stadium.

Though snowy weather persisted throughout the day, Yorker Club members were not deterred from enjoying their visit. Students were able to see the Yankees dugout, tour the locker room and walk through the Monument Park museum, which honors distinguished members of the Bronx Bombers.

Grand Avenue Middle School’s Yorker Club meets twice a month after school and is open to all students. The club annually visits historic sites such as Wickham Farm and Theodore Roosevelt’s House at Sagamore Hill, and tours Yankee Stadium and MSG.

Each trip includes a class or tour that explains something about the site and the people who lived there and used it. The Yorker Club is also very involved with community service.
