Gun Pointed At North Bellmore Gas Station Clerk: Police

The man fled without taking any cash as the store alarm was set off, authorities said.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A man with a gun attempted to rob a gas station in North Bellmore. Police said it happened just after 5 a.m. on Friday at the Speedway on Jerusalem Avenue.

The man jumped onto the counter and displayed a black handgun while demanding cash. He fled on foot before getting any money as the 18-year-old clerk activated the store alarm, authorities said.

No one was injured and no customers were in the store.
