Incident Near Mepham High Draws Police Presence

One man arrested after two females found passed out near school grounds, witnesses say; no Mepham students involved.

Nassau Police were called to Mepham High School earlier today after two women collapsed in the grass outside of the campus, according to eyewitnesses.

According to accounts from two Mepham students, two 20-year-old women were allegedly stumbling while walking in front of the school on Stewart Avenue. They were then reportedly "passed out" in the grass. The students began "shaking" the girls to wake them up and told them to leave the area.

The students said that Mepham Principal Michael Harrington responded to the scene and immediately notified police.
