It was a rough start to the season for Kennedy High School's football team, as it was defeated 21-6 by Herricks last Thursday.
For Kennedy, Barnett could a 14-yard pass from Kaplan, but that was all for the offense.
Jack Scaldaferri had 22 carries for 137 yards and two touchdowns for Herricks, and he also had eight tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.
After Herricks jumped out to a 14-0 lead, Kennedy's touchdown made it a one-score game heading to the fourth quarter, Scaldaferri broke a run to put the game away.
Kennedy had just 141 yards of total offense.
