Kennedy Grad Wins French Open Mixed Doubles Title

Former Cougar and Merrick resident Scott Lipsky collected his first French Open title earlier this afternoon.

Scott Lipsky, a member of the Kennedy High School Class of 1999, won the French Open mixed doubles title Thursday afternoon along with partner Casey Dellacqua of Australia.

The duo defeated defending champions Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 10-7.

It is Lipsky's first Grand Slam title. He is currently ranked 32nd in world in doubles.
