Lane Closures Affect Sunrise Highway Thursday
A new left-turn signal is being installed at Sunrise Highway and Hewlett Avenue.

Two lanes will be closed Thursday on the westbound side of Sunrise Highway at Hewlett Avenue while work is done to install a southbound, left-turn signal.
The closure will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and in the event of severe weather, this traffic signal improvement operation will be performed on Tuesday, July 30.
"Motorists are being warned in advance of the lane closures via portable electronic road signs but are urged to use alternate routes or they will experience delays during these off-peak, mid-day lane closures," said the New York State Department of Transportation in an email. "Drivers who cannot use alternate routes are reminded to drive carefully through the work zone for their safety as well as the safety of the highway work crew."
