John F. Kennedy High School will be holding a World Culture Night on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The event, sponsored by the Bellmore-Merrick JFKHS Culture Club, will feature multicultural food, singing, dancing and costumes. The evening will raise funds for the American Red Cross.
Students, teachers and local professionals will perform a variety of exciting traditional dances such as Bollywood (India), Ribbon Dance (China), Swing, The Bottle Dance (Jewish), Korean Pop, Hip-Hop, Salsa (South/Central America), Lion Dance (China) and Belly Dance (Middle East).
Prior to the event, students will decorate the gymnasium with paper lanterns with lights. The Bellmore-Merrick JFKHS Culture Club is also creating cultural centerpieces and gift baskets that will be given away.
