Lauren Johnson Helps Lift Mepham Girls Lax Over Kennedy, 15-11
Senior Goalie Kathryn DeLauter holds the Lady Cougars at bay with 15 saves.
The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team beat Bellmore JFK 15-11 yesterday. Senior Lauren Johnson scored nine goals and gave one assist. She is currently the top goal scorer on Long Island and has the most points in Nassau County and ranked #17 in the county for assists. Junior Cristina Olson had three goals and two assists and is ranked #12 in Nassau County for assists and #20 for points. Senior Goalie Kathryn DeLauter had 15 saves to record the win. Freshmen Nicole Stackpole and Ashley Appel each had one goal and one assist. Jess Gelbwaks also scored a goal. Great defense by Michelle Olson, Jayme Batcher and Kaitlyn Paolillo.
Their next home game is tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. against Hewlett.
