Letter To The Editor: Submit Comments On Jerusalem Avenue School Sale
The Board of Education wants to hear from you about the potential sale of the school to BOCES.

Dear Members of the Bellmore-Merrick Community:
On April 5, the Board of Education hosted a community forum concerning the potential sale of the Jerusalem Avenue School to Nassau BOCES. The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District has owned the Jerusalem Avenue property since 1954 and Nassau BOCES has rented the property from the district for the last 19 years.
During the course of the community forum, Mr. John DeTommaso, our superintendent of schools, fielded questions from the community on the board’s intent to put the sale of the building up for a referendum in the fall. Members of the community were encouraged to express their opinions concerning the potential sale of the property.
