Man Charged with Stealing More than $20k in Gift Cards from Nassau Stores
BREAKING: He allegedly used fraudulent credit cards to purchase gift cards.

A Brooklyn man was charged Friday with stealing more than $20,000 of merchandise from Stop and Shops across Nassau County.
The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 9:50 a.m. for Grand Larceny which occurred throughout Nassau County.
According to detectives, from Feb. 1 through March, Shawn A. Thompson, 32, of East 34th Street, Brooklyn, allegedly entered multiple Stop and Shop stores throughout Nassau County and purchased gift cards using fraudulent credit cards and debit cards. These transactions were captured on video surveillance and led store security to contact the police. The company suffered a loss in excess of $20,000.00.
Thompson surrendered to detectives on Friday in Westbury. He is charged with third degree grand larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
