Massapequa Bank Robbed

Police searching for man who robbed bank on Merrick Road Sunday afternoon.

A man robbed a Massapequa bank on Sunday afternoon, police said.

According to police, the man entered TD Bank, located at 5555 Merrick Road, around 12:48 p.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash.

The teller complied and the robber fled the bank on foot northbound on Carmen Mill Road with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

There were five employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as Hispanic, in his 20s, 5-foot-6, with black hair, a medium build and a medium complexion. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black baseball cap, a faded red/pink zippered sweatshirt and jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
