The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team beat Great Neck South yesterday 22-9 to improve to 2-0 in the conference.
Nine different girls scored for the Lady Pirates. Division I, Monmouth-bound Lauren Johnson led the scoring with six goals and one assist. Junior Alex Giorgos scored her first varsity hat trick and gave an assist. Senior Theresa White had her first varsity goal and assist. Senior Kaity Paolillo came from her defensive position to score two goals and give an assist. Freshman Nicole Stackpole scored three goals. Ashley Appel controlled many draws and scored two goals. The Olson sisters had a great game; Cristina had a hat trick and Michelle gave her first varsity assist. Jess Gelbwaks and Julie Fithian each scored a goal.
Senior Goalie Kathryn DeLauter recored the win with 14 saves.Erin Neuwirth and Jayme Batcher were outstanding on defense
Their next home game is on Monday at 10 a.m. against Valley Stream Central (2-0).
