Mepham Girls Lax Improves to 7-0 in Conference Play After Yesterday's Win

Lauren Johnson and Cristina Olson's four goals each secure a 16-12 win over Wheatley.

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Wheatley 16-12 yesterday to improve to 7-0 in the conference and 8-1 overall.

Lauren Johnson scored four goals and won 20 face-offs; she is No. 1 for points in Nassau County. Jess Gelbwaks had her first hat trick. Cristina Olson scored four goals and gave two assists. Olson is ranked 6th in the county for assists. Nicole Stackpole scored three goals and gave two assists, Ashley Appel had two goals and one assist and Dani Replogle gave her first varsity assist.

Michelle Olson, Kaitlyn Paolillo and Theresa White provided outstanding defense. Kathryn DeLauter was outstanding in goal in the second half which allowed us to take control of the game.

Next Tuesday, this team takes on undefeated Valley Stream Central at the Jerusalem Avenue School at 4:30 p.m.
