Mepham Student To Have Scientific Work Published
She is the co-author of the paper. She has been working on the research for two years.

From Syntax: Rebecca Scotto, an Advanced Science Research student at Wellington C. Mepham High School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, has been named as a co-author on a research paper set for publication.
The title of the paper is "Recombinant CXCL12 and Mechanical Loading Enhance Cortical Defect Repair." The abstract for the paper will be presented at the Orthopedic Research Society 2018 annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Scotto, a senior, has been working alongside Alesha Castillo, Ph.D. at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering for the past two summers to complete this study.
