Mepham Students Visit Winthrop Hospital
The program at Winthrop Hospital addresses the needs of hospitalized children through supervised play, recreation and more.

Students in Mr. Patten and Ms. Dennis' Participation in Government classes recently visited Winthrop Hospital to participate in the Child Life Program as a part of their senior service learning project.
To minimize a child's fear and reduce the possibility of developing emotional problems as a result of the hospital experience, the Child Life Program at Winthrop Hospital addresses the unique emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized children through supervised play, recreation, age-appropriate answers to questions, education and emotional support.
The seniors organized multiple arts and crafts projects for the patients at the hospital. Additional students will have the opportunity to visit the program in May and June.
