Nassau Man Arrested For Selling Replica Badges: Police

Police say the man was also selling patches and uniform pieces at a local flea market.

An East Meadow man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police say they found him selling police shields at a flea market.

According to police, officers received a call for a man selling police shields at the Bellmore Flea Market, located at 2700 Pettit Ave. When they responded, police say they found Howard Kaminowitz, 67, of Cadillac Drive, East Meadow, selling numerous replica police shields from various agencies. Also on sale were police patches, jackets and EMS uniforms.

Police arrested Kaminowitz without incident. He was charged with criminal sale of a police uniform. He was issued an appearance ticket for Sept. 25.
