Big Turnout for Bellmore Striders Independence Day Run

On a hot, Sunday Fourth of July morning, 559 racers turned out from all over Long Island to compete in the Annual Bellmore Striders Independence Day Run.

Leonora Joy-Petrina, 27, of Bayport was the first to finish overall with a time of 21:51. Rich Bury, 48, was the first Bellmore resident to finish with a time of 26:43.
