North Bellmore Appoints Rosemarie Corless To School Board
The former trustee is filling a vacancy on the board, and will serve until next May.

The North Bellmore Board of Education has appointed former trustee Rosemarie Corless to fill a vacancy on the five-member board. The new trustee was selected from a pool of qualified candidates, and will serve until the next regular school district election on May 21, 2019.
Corless previously served on the school board from 2006 to 2013, and during that time held the roles of president and vice president. She sat on many committees for North Bellmore and the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, including one that developed the elementary district’s mission statement and core values.
Her three daughters, Meghan, Kristen and Erin, attended Newbridge Road Elementary School, Grand Avenue Middle School and Mepham High School. Corless held PTA leadership positions at all three schools, including her recently completed service as president of the Mepham PTA. She has also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Kiwanis Club, games for the physically challenged and Last Hope animal shelter.

“Ms. Corless has an impressive resume of service to the North Bellmore community and we welcome her to the board of education,” Board of Education President Melissa Cmar-Grote said. “On behalf of myself and the entire board, I wish to express our appreciation to all of the community members who applied for the vacant position. It was a challenge to narrow it down to just one person.”
