North Bellmore Homes Evacuated Due to Car Scare
A bomb dog deemed a smell suspicious, and police took extra precautions.

Several North Bellmore homes were evacuated Tuesday morning after a bomb dog caught a suspicious scent in the Nassau County Highway Patrol office’s parking lot on Newbridge Road.
“They boarded a bomb dog, and it turned out to be a bullet,” police said. “They thought it was something else, so they took universal precautions.”
Once the car was deemed harmless, the residents were able to return to their homes, cops added.
