North Bellmore Names New Facilities Director

Richard Russo will be responsible for maintaining the district's buildings and grounds.

BELLMORE, NY - From North Bellmore Public Schools: Richard Russo has been named the new director of facilities for the North Bellmore School District. He will be responsible for the upkeep of the district’s buildings and grounds, supervise the custodial and maintenance staff, and coordinate with contractors performing work at the schools.

Mr. Russo most recently served as the head custodian at Herricks High School, directing the daily cleaning and maintenance of a 218,000-square-foot building by 13 employees. He also was responsible for budgeting and ordering supplies, operating the building’s heating system and scheduling large maintenance and repair projects. Prior to that, he worked as a head custodian in the Massapequa School District. Additionally, he has 25 years of experience as a general contractor.

“Our buildings and grounds will be in good hands with Mr. Russo, who knows the ins and outs of a school building,” said Superintendent Marie Testa. “It is so important to provide a clean and safe environment for our students, staff and visitors, and that begins with good leadership.”
