Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Nassau Early Sunday

A woman was struck and killed by a car while she was crossing a road in Bellmore early Sunday morning.

According to detectives, the woman was crossing Sunrise Highway at 1 a.m. when she was struck by a car travelling eastbound. She was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. The car remained at scene. The investigation is ongoing.
