Police: Woman Put in Chokehold, Robbed in Her Garage

Five Towns woman was entering her home through a garage when she was robbed, cops said.

A Five Towns woman was put in a chokehold and robbed by an unknown man Friday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said the 69-year-old victim was entering her Forest Avenue home through her garage when she was approached from behind. The unknown assailant, believed to be a man, put the woman in a chokehold and demanded her jewelry and wallet, police said. She cooperated and the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim was not injured, detectives said.

The incident happened at 2:12 p.m. Friday, police said.

No description is available for the subject but he may have been wearing a hooded sweatshirt, cops said.
