A little inclement weather doesn’t put a damper on lunchtime recess at Bellmore’s Winthrop Avenue School.

On days the weather prevents the students from enjoying an outdoor recess, the boys and girls have the opportunity to participate in a variety of indoor clubs, as well as watch a movie in the school’s auditorium.

“The indoor recess clubs are a great way for children to stay active, even while inside,” said Principal Sally Curto.

During the indoor recess days, two students from each class are selected to participate in the various clubs. The indoor recess clubs available to the students are game, builder, art, gym, recorder, library and computer. These are in addition to the outdoor clubs – garden and walking.
