Rogation Day Garden Festival: Saturday, May 2, 9 AM-7 PM at St. Francis Church & Garden (formerly St. Mark's), 1692 Bellmore Avenue, North Bellmore
This unique garden festival is designed for the community, neighbors, families, and children to learn, have fun, and enjoy nature's bounty.
The Garden at St. Mark’s and St. Francis Episcopal Church (formerly St. Mark’s) invite you to the a Rogation Day Organic Garden Festival. Rogation Day is an annual tradition common to many cultures. It is a celebration at the start of the planting season and a time to ask (“rogare”) for rain.
There will be many activities for everyone including workshops on organic landscaping, native Long Island plantings, the Monarch Butterfly, keeping our waterways safe and more. There will be activities for children including face painting, a butterfly scavenger hunt, making a nature impression shirt (bring a plain colored shirt), and more.
Bring your own soil for a free soil testing. There will also be free compost tea for your plants (bring a jug). There will be a plant sale and free expert garden advice. A simple lunch will be available.

This wonderful day will end with a Rogation Day ritual and procession at 3:30 PM in the organic gardens with music led by the Heaven on Earth Choir. This will be followed by a community Pot Luck Dinner at 5 PM in the Parish Hall.
