Roosevelt Man Charged For July 4th Block Party Shooting Death: PD
Michael Wright faces multiple charges including second-degree murder, Nassau police say.

MINEOLA, NY — A man is charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a Fourth of July block party in Roosevelt.
Michael Wright, 34, faces second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The deadly incident involved two groups at the party on Hudson Avenue in Roosevelt, detectives said.

There were multiple shots fired and three people struck by the gunfire. Tavon Greenhill, a 27-year-old man from Hempstead died at the scene, while two other victims were transported to local hospitals, police said.
Wright, who is from Roosevelt, was expected to be arraigned on the charges Wednesday in Hempstead.
