Sept. 12: 9/11 Memories, Expressway Construction, Tree Planted

A look at what's happening around the Bellmore and Merrick areas on this Wednesday.

  1. The Wenshaw Park Civic Association held a special community curbside candle light memorial last night to honor the memory of of those lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. 
  2. To commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the attacks of September 11, Patch compiled a retrospective of past stories detailing how Bellmore and Merrick residents were affected.
  3. A Bellmore resident held a dedication ceremony for a tree planted in memory of his late cousin, an FDNY first responder who tragically lost his life eleven years ago on September 11.
