Special Teams, Defense Lead Elmont Past Kennedy

The Cougars were outscored 38-0 in the game's first three quarters.

When your defense records a pick six and a safety, it's usually a formula for victory, as was the case for Elmont Saturday in its 44-6 win against Kennedy High School.

The Cougars were outscored 38-0 in the game's first three quarters. Kendall St. Louis had an interception for Elmont and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. Later, Matt Brutus tackled a Cougar for a safety, and Elmont was off to the races from there.

St. Louis had two interceptions on the day, while Brutus recorded two sacks.

Up next, Kennedy will look for its first win Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts South Side.
