5. Joey Karo: The senior point guard was Kennedy's leading scorer in 13 of the Cougars' 19 games this season, including a 14-point performance against MacArthur in the first round of the playoffs. He led the team in scoring for the third consecutive season and averaged 14.5 points per game.

Karo was a model of consistency on a team that was a roller coaster for most of the season. His clutch free-throw shooting and 14 points helped Kennedy take down Long Beach for a big win during the middle of the season.

4. Morgan Kitton: The Kennedy Lady Cougars had a solid year and finished in third place in Conference AA-III. Kitton, who was named to the All-State soccer team earlier in the year, had a career season for the Lady Cougars.

Kitton dropped 19 points and 10 rebounds for an important win against Valley Stream Central to get her team back to the .500 mark. She followed her performance against Central with 18 points and 13 rebounds against Long Beach in the very next game.

3. Robert Person: Despite being upset in the first round of the playoffs, the Kennedy wrestling squad had a great season and were the Conference 2B champions. At the center of the mats for the Cougars was Person, who dominated his weight class all year long.

Person picked up a big pin against Garden City for the conference title back in January and was recently named the top wrestler in Nassau County after winning the 96-pound weight class at the county tournament. He was also just announced as a member of the All-State team.

2. Kristen O'Brien: Not enough can be said about the season the Lady Pirates basketball team had. O'Brien, who is only a junior, was a major factor earlier in the season for Mepham and led all of Nassau County in scoring at one point.

O'Brien was always a factor on the court and drew players to her even when she wasn't scoring. A few of her standout games on the season were a career-high 31 points against Great Neck South, a 24-point effort against Kennedy, a 27-point game against Carle Place and a 21-point night against a very tough Elmont team earlier in the season.

1. James Bobb: Bobb was at the forefront of the Bulldogs' success this season. The senior captain led by example on and off the ice, but mainly on the ice. He also led the team in scoring and helped take the Bulldogs to the Nassau County championship.

Bobb made a statement early in the season with a four-goal game against Manhasset. The senior didn't let up as the season progressed and led the Bulldogs past Wantagh-Seaford with a hat trick back on Jan. 31.

The Bulldogs beat the Syosset Braves in first round behind four points from Bobb. He scored four more points against Massapequa in the finals.
