WHAT: The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District SEPTA and Community Parent Center will host the eighth annual Fair for Transitioning Students with Disabilities: From Eligibility to Employment and Beyond!

The event is a step-by-step walk through the transitioning process, from eligibility determination through employment, as well as supported living options for people with special needs, featuring over forty agency information tables and nine workshops covering OPWDD agency-directed and self-directed services, Medicaid, SSI, Self-Advocacy and special needs planning. There will be keynote speakers, a Student Workshop with presentations, a guided scavenger hunt with prizes and a special performance by Calhoun’s “Express Yourself” program.

WHO: Experts in the field of disabilities services, non-profit service providers, representatives from OPWDD, ACCESS-VR, Self-Advocacy Association of New York State, SEPTA, students, families and professionals from across Long Island
