Weekly Recap: New Charges Filed in Fatal Meadowbrook Crash, Pre-Schooler Donates Hair

  1. Driver Charged with Vehicular Manslaughter in Fatal Meadowbrook Accident: The man who was allegedly responsible for killing two people while they were standing outside their car on the Meadowbrook Parkway was re-arrested Friday and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and driving while impaired by drugs.
  2. Pre-Schooler to Donate Hair for Pediatric Cancer: A 4-year-old that goes to Merrick Woods will be donating her hair to raise money for those with pediatric cancer. 
  3. BZA Reserves Decision on North Shore Farms: The fate of the proposed Bellmore location of North Shore Farms is now in the hands of lawmakers. The Town’s Board of Zoning appeals reserved decision Wednesday. 
  4. CrossFit Invasion Opens Shop on Bedford Avenue: Two Wantagh residents have opened a new fitness center in Bellmore and welcomed the local community by offering free workouts the first weekend of March.
  5. Bellmore Kids Create Blankets for Soldiers: In the spirit of community service and giving back to those protecting our freedoms overseas, the students at Bellmore’s Winthrop Avenue School participated in the Blankets of Hope program.
