Woman Caught Buying Heroin With 7-Year-Old Son in Car: Police

FREEPORT, NY - Two people were arrested after a woman, who was with found with her 7-year-old son, was caught buying heroin from a man at the Freeport Train Station on Wednesday night, according to Nassau Police.

Members of the CIRRT task force, while on patrol by the train station, saw 29-year-old Nicole Genua, of Levittown, exit her car and obtain drugs from 45-year-old Anthony Helbock, of Bellmore, who was sitting on the driver’s side of his car at about 9:15 p.m., police said.

After driving away from the scene, Genua was pulled over and was seen throwing several folded pieces of paper from the car window, police said.

Police discovered she was in possession of a small quantity of heroin and two pills believed to be clonazepam, police said.

During her arrest, Genua was found to have her son with her, who was in the rear passenger seat, police said.

He was later released to his father, police said.

Helbock was also pulled over and found to be in possession of two bags of heroin, police said.

He too was placed under arrest without incident.

Genua is charged with tampering with physical evidence, two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Helbock is charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
