$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold On LI; Jackpot Up To $570M

Long Island has a new millionaire (before taxes, at least).

A Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold on Long Island.

The ticket for Wednesday night's drawing was sold at the BP gas station located at 325 Washington Ave. in Brentwood, according to the New York Lottery. The gas station will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, which matched all five winning numbers and missed just the Powerball number.

No one won the Powerball jackpot, though, which means the Saturday, Jan. 6 drawing will be for $570 million.
