10 Displaced In Brentwood House Fire

The fire broke out on Monday afternoon.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A total of 10 people were displaced after a house fire in Brentwood on Monday afternoon, according to the Brentwood Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at a 1-story ranch on Hilltop Drive at about 2 p.m.

The heavy fire started at an attached garage that was converted into an apartment.

A total of 50 firefighters from the Central Islip, Islip, Bay Shore and East Brentwood Fire Departments all assisted in battling the blaze.

The fire was brought under control in about 40 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The Red Cross is assisting the 10 people who were displaced.

The fire is currently being investigated by the Suffolk County Arson Squad and the Islip Town Fire Marshals office.
