19-Year-Old Dies After Being Shot, Crashing Car: PD

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A 19-year-old driver is dead, after he was shot and crashed into a parked trailer on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Carlos Guillen, of Bay Shore, was driving an Acura eastbound on Francisco Avenue in Central Islip at about 12:30 p.m., when he struck a parked trailer and fence at the intersection of Lurcott Lane, police said.

Guillen was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where physicians discovered a bullet wound, police said. He was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Detectives are currently investigating the case.
