2 Pedestrians Seriously Hurt After Hit-And-Run In Suffolk: Police

A sedan struck and injured two people Wednesday night, police say.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A hit-and-run crash in Central Islip on Wednesday night left two pedestrians seriously hurt, Suffolk County police said.

Around 10:20 p.m., a sedan heading west on Suffolk Avenue struck a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue, police said. The sedan then fled the scene.

Police believe the sedan is possibly maroon with front-end damage.

The pedestrians were taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment, police said.
