2-Year-Old Boy Nearly Drowns In Koi Pond Outside Suffolk Home: PD

The toddler was found unresponsive in the pond Sunday afternoon.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A 2-year-old boy nearly drowned in a pond outside a Central Islip home on Sunday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers responded to a East Poplar Street home at 2:37 p.m. after the toddler was found unresponsive in a koi pond.

The boy was transported via ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was revived.

The boy is expected to be transported to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens for further treatment and is in serious condition.
