6-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured In Brentwood Crash

The drivers of the two cars were also hospitalized after the crash on Thursday afternoon.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured in Brentwood crash on Thursday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

Melanie Beemer, 35, of Coram was driving a 2011 Jeep Patriot east on Express Drive South when she was struck by a 1999 Honda Odyssey traveling south on Washington Avenue by Wilber Lopez Gonzalez , 22, of Brentwood at 3 p.m., police said.

A 6-year-old boy in the Jeep was transported to Cohen’s Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park in serious condition.

Beemer and Gonzalez were both transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
