WATCH: 6 Fire Departments Battle Blaze At Central Islip Home

The home was severely damaged in the fire on Friday morning.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A Central Islip home was severely damaged after a fire broke out on Friday morning, according to the Central Islip Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at a Hawthorne Avenue home at about 9:44 a.m.

The male resident of the home was alerted by the smoke alarm and evacuated the home, Suffolk Police said.

No injuries were reported.

The house suffered from intense heat and water damage.

Firefighters from the Central Islip Fire Department, Islip Terrace Fire Department, Islip Fire Department, East Islip Fire Department, Hauppauge Fire Department and East Brentwood Fire Department responded.

The blaze was under control in about an hour.

The cause of the fire is still unknown however Arson Section detectives believe the cause of the fire is non-criminal.
