• State Audit Flags Building Access Issues In Brentwood School District (patch.com) — Parents and staff in Brentwood should know a recent state audit found a handful of outdated or duplicate building-access badges still active in the Brentwood Union Free School District, creating a potential security risk. District leaders say the issues are administrative, are tightening badge procedures, and must now submit a corrective action plan to the state within 90 days.
   

• Native Plant Sale & Environment Fair (town.news) — Brentwood residents can browse native plants and meet local conservation groups at a two-day sale and environmental fair at Sisters of St. Joseph on Brentwood Road, September 12–13. The event will feature gardening experts, educational displays, and tips for creating wildlife-friendly yards. Purchases support efforts to restore Long Island's native plant life.
   

• Brentwood Taxi Driver Busted With 37 License Suspensions: Police (patch.com) — Police say a Brentwood taxi driver was pulled over on Suffolk Avenue and then found to have 37 license suspensions, leading to his arrest on aggravated unlicensed operation charges. Officers were conducting traffic enforcement at a high-crash location when they stopped the Crown Cars Service vehicle. The driver is due in court at a later date.
