BRENTWOOD, NY — Brentwood High School celebrated homecoming with a 46-6 victory over Central Islip and the debut of its new turf football field on Oct. 3.
Members of the Brentwood Board of Education and district administration held a ribbon-cutting ceremony before kickoff to mark the new field's opening.
The district said the turf field is the latest completed project in a series of athletic facility improvements at Brentwood High School.
The Spartans then took the field for their first home game on the new surface, defeating Central Islip 46-6.
The homecoming festivities also included a halftime performance by Brentwood's Green Machine Marching Band.
