• Brentwood Man Arrested Tuesday Morning After Allegedly Fleeing the Scene of a Deadly Hit and Run in Lindenhurst (town.news) — A Brentwood man was arrested at his home after Suffolk County police said he struck a pedestrian on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst early Tuesday and fled, with the victim later dying at a West Islip hospital. The 65-year-old Brentwood resident faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a fatality and has been arraigned in Central Islip.
   

• Central Islip Calls for Growth Plan, 'Fair Share' of State Funds (lilifepolitics.com) — Traffic backups at Brentwood Road and nearby crossings are a major focus as Central Islip neighbors push the state and MTA for overpasses and safer rail intersections stretching into Brentwood proper. Local leaders, including Brentwood-based legislators, argue Long Island isn't getting its fair share of transportation dollars, even as new housing and heavy train traffic strain roads residents use every day.
