CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Hundreds of students and family members gathered at Central Islip High School on Oct. 8 for the school's annual College Fair, where attendees explored higher education opportunities and learned about the college application process.
The event, held in the school's cafeteria, featured more than 100 representatives from colleges and universities across the country. Representatives from branches of the U.S. military were also on hand to discuss opportunities available to students.
In addition to meeting with representatives, students and families could attend informational sessions covering several topics related to college planning.
Four breakout sessions focused on the college search process, financial aid opportunities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and NCAA requirements and athletic scholarships.
The annual fair provided students and their families with resources to help them make informed decisions about their educational paths after high school.
