Blaze Breaks Out At C. Islip Home While Family Away On Vacation
No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out Sunday.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A house fire broke out in Central Islip early Sunday while the family was away on vacation.
Suffolk Police responded to a house fire at the Violet Street home at 12:30 a.m. The fire started in the garage before spreading to the main house.
The home was "inhabitable" at this time of the fire, police said. No injuries were reported from the scene.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
The Central Islip Fire Department responded to put out the fire along with members of the Hauppauge, East Islip and Islip Terrace Fire Departments.

Patrick Murphy, chief of the Central Islip Fire Department, told Newsday that neighbors informed him that the owners of the home were "away on vacation" at the time of blaze.
