Brentwood’s Spooktacular Halloween
Brentwood UFSD Hosts Inclusive Trick-or-Treat Street Celebrations

Brentwood, N.Y. (November 2019)—The Brentwood Union Free School District (BUFSD) recently celebrated the Halloween season with a number of community events and festivities. Students and staff of Brentwood High School organized a Safe Halloween Night for many of the district’s younger students, providing them with a safe, fun, and imaginative Halloween experience. Brentwood Freshman Center’s student-run Trick-or-Treat Street was an excitement-filled night that included a number of students and families from the community. The goal of these events was to provide a safe and welcoming environment to celebrate Halloween, open to the entirety of the Brentwood UFSD community.

“It was the drive and motivation of the students and staff that led to the success of these two wonderful events,” said Mr. Richard Loeschner, Superintendent of Brentwood Union Free School District. “The district is proud to have such dedicated members work to organize safe and family-friendly events for the whole community to enjoy. We aim to instill a sense of love and respect for the community within our students and encourage them to act as leaders for the younger members of the district. Great job to everyone involved in these two outstanding events, you made your community proud!”

Safe Halloween Night, organized by the staff and students of Brentwood High School, featured several fun activities and treats. Those in attendance were encouraged to celebrate in style and attend in costumes as they filled up their Halloween baskets and danced the night away. Brentwood Freshman Center’s Trick or Treat Street featured a DJ, various student run games and engaging Halloween crafts. Participating students and families showcased their personalities and unique imaginations with their costumes and celebrating in a safe and inclusive way.
