Pine Park's Kindergarteners Commemorate Fall Season through Multidisciplinary Learning Approach

Brentwood, New York (November 2020)—Several kindergarteners at Pine Park in the Brentwood Union Free School District recently harvested their knowledge and expertise during a multidisciplinary learning approach to commemorate the fall season. Students visited the Pine Park Pumpkin Patch, located in the building’s gymnasium, and engaged in several pumpkin-related curriculum activities. For science, students observed and analyzed pumpkins to elicit their characteristics as they measured their size, weight and growth process. For ELA, students took pen to paper and brainstormed descriptive adjectives.
