C. Islip Woman Drove Away After Abandoning Dog In Street: SPCA

The dog was seen running in circles, barking in the middle of the road by himself, the SPCA said.

BAY SHORE, NY - A Central Islip woman was arrested on Wednesday for abandoning her 1-year-old dog in Bay Shore, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.

Barbara Pearson, 57, was charged with letting her dog, a Shih Tzu mix named Bubba, out of a car on South Denver Avenue in Bay Shore on Nov. 19, the SPCA.

She then drove away leaving the dog running in circles, barking in the middle of the road, the SPCA said.

The dog was rescued by a good Samaritan who witnessed the entire incident.

Pearson will appear in First District Court on February 15, 2019.
